about
Wayne Williams, of Wake Forest, North Carolina, recently relocated from McAllen, Texas, where he lived, worked, and photographed for over 25 years.
A past member and program director of the Texas Nature and Environmental Photographers organization in the Rio Grande Valley of deep South Texas, Williams specializes in photographing birds and wildlife across Texas, the U.S. Pacific Northwest, and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
He leads annual photography trips focused on elk in North Carolina, great gray owls in Alberta, and whooping cranes along the Gulf Coast of Texas.
Williams is also known for his engaging presentations on topics such as hummingbird photography, whooping crane migration, and painting with light photography. He offers these programs both online and in person to local organizations and clubs.
One of his favorite activities is guiding photographers in pursuit of native and migratory birds and wildlife in the rich and diverse ecosystem of the Rio Grande Valley. He is a noted guide at the Laguna Seca Ranch located in Linn, Texas.
His images have been featured in numerous Facebook birding and wildlife groups, awarded multiple Universe of Color Photography monthly honors, displayed in local exhibitions and publications, and recognized in national contests—including selection among the top 250 images by the North American Nature Photography Association.
In addition to guiding wildlife photographers, Williams offers private photography lessons. He can be reached here.
